Glinsk Castle
Year:1945
Description:A photograph of the ruin of Glinsk Castle in Galway county. There are a number of trees without leaves near the castle, and there are two parallel hedges running close to the castle. Presumably, there is a road between these hedges. The castle has an arched door. There is a low, delapidated stone wall close to the castle and there is a shed beyond the castle. There is graffiti on the castle wall which reads "Dev, Abu". Dev is short for Eamon De Valera, the Prime Minister of Ireland at the time. AbĂș is an Irish word that means 'for ever'. The rest of the graffiti is indecipherable. The photograph was taken in 1945.
