Description:A photograph of the interior of Kylemore Abbey in Connemara, Co. Galway. Kylemore Abbey is a Benedictine monastery in the grounds of Kylemore Castle. It was founded by Benedictine nuns who fled Belgium during World War I. In the photograph, there is an ornate fireplace. There is a face sculpted into the stone over the hearth, and there is a female figure sculpted on either side. There is an ornament and two candelabras on the mantelpiece. There is a very large mirror over the fireplace, and the reflection of a chandelier can be seen in this mirror. There are steps and a door on the left.
