Description:A photograph of Aran men swimming a cow towards a steamship known as the S. S. Dun Aengus. The steamship is not in the picture. The Aran Islands are three islands off the west coast of Ireland. In the picture, there are three men rowing a currach (a type of rowboat used off the west coast of Ireland). There is a fourth man at the back of the boat, holding the head of a cow, which is otherwise in the water. All four men are wearing caps.
