Liberty Hall after the 1916 rising
Collection:Frost
Year:1916
Description:A photograph of Liberty Hall, Dublin. The building is partly destroyed after the 1916 rising. The photograph was taken in May of that year. There are some soldiers standing outside the building and some civilians standing a greater distance away. There is, also, a cart parked in the street outside. The writing on the wall of the building reads 'HEAD OFFICE, IRISH TRANSPORT AND GENERAL WORKERS (sic)UN...'. The part of the building which bears the remainder of the word 'UNION' is destroyed. 'OFFICE THE WORKER NEWSPAPER' is written to the left and over the writing. There is more writing on the right of the building which I am unable to read.
