Thoor Ballylee Castle
Description:A photograph of Thoor Ballylee Castle. This is a fortified, thirteenth century, Norman tower built by the Burke family. It lies in County Galway near the town of Gort. The author William Butler Yeats purchased this property and lived here, with his family, from 1921 to 1929. There are two men working on a thatched cottage beside the castle. One man is holding a trowel. There is a bucket and a lump hammer beside him, resting on the pillar of a gate. The gate is a double gate made of wood. Both men are wearing caps.
