Detail from Kilmacduagh monastic site
Collection:Bord Failte
Description:A photograph of two bas-reliefs from the Kilmacduagh monastic site in Galway county. Kilmacduagh is the site of a seventh century monastery founded by St Colman, son of Duagh, a member of one of the local royal families. The monastery is now in ruin and without its roof, but nearby there is a magnificent Round Tower complete with conical cap.
