Description:A photograph of the statue of Padraic O'Conaire in Eyre Square (in Galway city). Padraic is a well known author in the Irish language. He lived from 1882 to 1928. He is best known for his short stories. The statue depicts Padraic in a sitting pose. He is wearing a hat. The Great Southern Hotel, later known as The Railway Hotel and subsequently known as The Meyrick, can be seen in the background. There are street lights and a tree in front of this building. The bus station is on the left of the hotel, and there are a few buses parked at the station.
