Kilmacduagh monastic site
Description:A photograph of the Kilmacduagh monastic site in Galway county. Kilmacduagh is the site of a seventh century monastery founded by St Colman, son of Duagh, a member of one of the local royal families. The monastery is now in ruin and without its roof, but nearby there is a magnificent Round Tower complete with conical cap. There is a graveyard in the grounds of the monastery. The grounds are enclosed by a stone wall. Outside this stone wall, there are hay stacks, and there is a bush growing.
