Archaeological site on Middle Street
Description:A photograph of the Galway Corporation Housing Depot as it is being demolished. It was located on Middle Street. It was demolished in 1987, and the demolition was overseen by a team of archaeologists. There is a walled up medieval, arched doorway on this side of the building. In addition, there is a walled up window, and a second walled up doorway. In the background, there is a site office and a van. There is a high wall on the left. The buildings of Galway city can be seen beyond this wall, including the cupola of Galway's catholic cathedral, and the spire of Saint Nicholas' Church.
