Entrance to Monivea Castle

Description:An early photograph of the entrance to Monivea Castle, an O'Kelly tower house that was acquired by the Ffrenches in the early seventeenth century. The entrance consists of a gate with large pillars. There is a horse and trap (a type of carriage) between the pillars. Beside each pillar, there are railings. Left of the railings, on each side, there is a wall. Behind the railings, on the left, there is a small gate lodge. Through the gate, there is a drive, and there are large trees growing on each side of this drive.
