Browne's Doorway
Collection:Connacht Tribune
Description:A photograph of a doorway in Eyre's Square in Galway city. The doorway is known as Browne's Doorway. It was originally the entrance to the family home of the Browne family. This house was on Lower Abbeygate Street. The doorway was moved, in 1905, from there to Eyre Square. There is a bay window over the door, and there is a column on either side of it. There is a plaque on its right. There are railings around the square, and the door now serves as an entrance to the square. There is a seat on each side of the door, and there is a street light on the right of the door. There is a woman walking past. There are trees growing in the square, and some of the buildings which surround the square are visible on the left.
