Tyrone House

Description:A photograph of Tyrone House which is near Kilcolgan in Galway county. Tyrone House was built in 1779 by Christopher French St. George (1754-1826). It is a large house built in a Palladian style. There are steps leading up to the front door. There are four women and a man standing at the top of these steps. Two of these women are wearing hats. The man is wearing a top hat. There is a fifth women sitting on the lower steps, and there is a dog sitting next to her. There is a workman standing on the left of the steps. There are trees in the background. The photograph was taken in 1865.
