Description:A photograph of piece of granite. It is a crystalline igneous rock. It is composed fo relatively large (2-3) salmon pink potash feldspars set in a groundmass of white sodium feldspars, glassy quartz and black mica called biotite. Many varieties of the 400 million year old Galway Granite can be found along the northern shorelines of Galway Bay.
