Description:A sketch of the visit of King Edward VII to Galway in 1903. The caption reads "Galway did not allow its Nationalist principles to stand in the way of a hearty Irish welcome to the king. The chairman of the Urban District Council, Mr. James O'Donoghue, in presenting an address, said that his Majesty was raised high above all political questions, and the citizens had great pleasure in giving expression to the feelings of profound respect in which he was held. The King returned a cordial reply."
