Description:Two photographs. One is of a girls standing next to a woman who is, for the most part, not in the photograph. The clothes of the girl are quite ragged. On the right, there is a second photograph. This is of an old woman sitting on a rock and holding a stick. She is wearing a shawl. The ground is rocky. There is a stone wall behind her and behind her, on her left, there is the stone wall of a house. The woman is barefoot. The photographs were taken in 1898 and were taken in Garumna Island, county Galway. The caption at the bottom of the photographs reads "A Girl and an Old Woman - Garumna Island.".
