Description:A photograph of layers of rocks. The layering in these rocks dips in different directions. Individual layers, or beds, were deposited originally on opposite banks of a tidal channel when Galway lay on the northern margins of a sea which stretched from America, through Ireland and Scotland, and into what is now Scandinavia.
